Pin-up for Dark Horse's Furious

A while ago I drew and colored a pin-up to help promote Victor Santos and Bryan Glass' upcoming book Furious, that will be published by Dark Horse in January. Today Dark Horse released it with their  logo and lettering added, which makes the piece look so cool. I really enjoyed working on this piece and it made me think I may need to start coloring more, I like how the whole thing turned out.

Hace un tiempo dibujé y coloreé un pin-up para la nueva serie de Dark Horse Furious, dibujada por Victor Santos y guionizada por Bryan Glass. Hoy Dark Horse la ha publicado con su logo añadido, que queda la mar de bien. Disfruté mucho dibujando este pin-up, especialmente al colorearlo, creo que debería colorear más y mejorar, la verdad es que lo disfruto bastante.

Thor - Julián López & Brett R Smith

Not too long ago I inked a very cool Thor penciled by Julián López and colorist Brett R. Smith, who I worked with in DC earlier this year, asked if he could color the piece to use as print. We of course said yes and here's the magnificent result!

Hace unos meses entinté un Thor dibujado por Julián López y Brett R. Smith, colorista con el que había trabajado en DC a principios de año preguntó podía entintarlo para usarlo como print. Por supuesto le dijimos que sí y aquí está el resultado. Pasote!

And here it is, the colored version of my Hellboy. I'm not much of a colorist but it was fun to play with it a little.

THOR - Julián López

I have been inking Julián López for a few months now on How Me Ha Pasado Algo Muy Bestia for Norma Comics but I'd never inked anything from him outside of that book. Until now. Here's the mighty Thor penciled by him and inked by me. It's one my favorite pieces I've ever done, I think.

He estado entintando a Julián López en Hoy Me Ha Pasado Algo Muy Bestia para Norma durante los últimos meses pero nunca había entintado nada suyo fuera de ese proyecto. Hasta ahora! Aquí os subo a Thor, dibujado por él y entintado por un servidor. De lo mejorcito que he entintado, creo.

It's been a while since the last time I've updated my blog, mostly because I don't have much time to do it. I've been working on a couple of projects for Spain and France and also doing samples, which is what I post here. X-Men Legacy - David Baldeon

David Baldeon's style is quite different from anybody else's, 50% American 50% French, very unique and fresh and I had to ink a page or two done by him. Here's my take on his pencils.

Me encanta el estilo de David Baldeón, mitad americano, mitad francés, resultando en un una mezcla muy fresca y reconocible. Hacía tiempo que quería entintar algo suyo y por fin he tenido el tiempo, aqui os lo dejo.

Wolverine - Carlos Pacheco

I'm starting to get busy with projects (that I will talk about some other day) and have less time to do sample pages but until I'm able to post some of the work I'm doing, this is all I can show. Carlos Pacheco was always an inspiration for me, I read his comics growing up, amazed that he had managed to become a big name in the US market. He showed the way to a whole generation of Spanish artists, including myself. And so I had to ink something penciled by him, and here you have it.

Empiezo a estar bastante ocupado con algunos proyectos que todavía no puedo enseñar así que tengo menos tiempo para hacer páginas de muestra. Aún así, me apetecía mucho entintar algo de Carlos Pacheco, un pionero que nos ha inspirado a tantos a perseguir una carrera en el mercado americano. Espero que os guste!

Super Dinosaur - Jason Howard

I've always loved Jason Howard, I was a huge fan of Wolfman and I've really enjoyed what I've read of Super Dinosaur as well. And so I had to do some inking over his pencils, they just look to fun to work on. I got a few pages of his, here's the first one inked by me, I will post more soon.

Siempre me ha encantado el estilo de Jason Howard, tan cercano a la animación y uno de eso dibujantes que no necesita un detalle excesivo para explicar una historia y divertir como pocos. Me apetecía entintar algo suyo, aqúi la primera página que he entintado como muestra, espero tener alguna más pronto.

Superboy - Iban Coello

Sample page over pencils by Iban Coello Soria. Had a blast with this page, his mix of manga and American comics was different to ink over, and I mean that in a good way. I hope I get to work with Iban sometime in the future, it would be a dream gig for me.

Nightwing #18

IGN has published a great preview of my latest work for DC Comics, inks on Nightwing #18 over pencils of Juan Jose RyP. Here I'm posting the cover and my pages (as Roger Bonet inked a few pages on this issue as well).

Batgirl #18 - Dani Sampere

As I mentioned on a previous post, today Batgirl #18 is on comic book shops and I was asked to do some inking on it. It was just one page, unluckily, but it was fun, as inking Dani Sampere always is.

Posting a sample page I did for Spanish artist Juan Antonio Ramírez (currently working on Bionic Woman for Dynamite). I loved inking this one, his style is clean and smooth and always love working on pages like that.

Aquí va una prueba sobre lápices de Juan Antonio Ramírez (que actualmente dibuja Bionic Woman para Dynamite). He disfrutado mucho con esta página, de línea limpia y suave, es seguramente el estilo que mejor me va cuando entinto.

DC Comics

I guess it is time to start sharing some of the work I've been doing lately... well, not really, but at least I can tell you what it is: I recently inked a few pages for one of the majors: DC Comics! For now, I'll show this page from Batgirl #18 (that I didn't ink) just released by DC where you can see my name on the credits. I was supposed to ink five pages for this issue, pencilled by Dani Sampere, but I ended up doing only one because I was asked to ink another book, which I'll talk about soon... For now, this is it, I will share the page as soon as it gets published.

Por fín puedo comparitr algo del trabajo que he estado haciendo últimamente. Bueno, en realidad aún no, pero al menos puedo desvelar de que se trata: he estado entintando algunas páginas para DC Comics! Esta página es del número 18 de Batgirl, con lápices de Dani Sampere y DC me pidió entintar 5 páginas aunque acabé haciendo solo una porque DC me pidíó ayudarles con otra colección... de la que hablaré cuando pueda. De momento, y ya que esta página no la entinté yo, os tendreis que conformar con ver mi nombre ahí en la letra pequeña, al lado de auténticos fenómenos como Dani, Mikel Janín, Vicente Cifuentes, Rob Hunter, Ray Fawkes y demás. Para mi es todo un orgullo!
